Parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf added in a separate post on X that after the attacks on energy facilities "an eye-for-an-eye sum is in effect, and a new level of confrontation has begun".
Qatar said on Wednesday that Iranian attacks on its main gas facility situated on its north coast were a "direct threat to its national security".
"Qatar expresses its strong condemnation and denunciation of the brutal Iranian attack targeting Ras Laffan Industrial City... Qatar considers this assault a dangerous escalation, a flagrant violation of its sovereignty, and a direct threat to its national security," the Gulf state's foreign ministry said in a statement.

The US Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged Wednesday as expected, in defiance of President Donald Trump as the world's largest economy battles stubborn inflation, weak labour demand and an "uncertain" economic outlook due to the war in Iran.
The Fed's 11-1 vote kept rates steady at a range between 3.50 per cent and 3.75 per cent, with officials flagging one expected rate cut by the end of the year.
"The implications of developments in the Middle East for the US economy are uncertain," the Fed said in a statement.

It is the first time the army has announced that Ben Gurion - Israel's main international airport - has been hit since the start of the Middle East war, triggered by the US-Israeli attacks against Iran launched on February 28.

US intelligence concluded Wednesday that Iran was not rebuilding nuclear enrichment capacities that were destroyed in a June 2025 US-Israeli attack, contradicting President Donald Trump's justifications for his ongoing war.
Tulsi Gabbard, a Trump ally who is director of national intelligence, shared the conclusion in written testimony as part of an annual threat assessment but did not repeat the finding when speaking to senators.
"As a result of Operation Midnight Hammer, Iran's nuclear enrichment program was obliterated. There has been no efforts since then to try to rebuild their enrichment capability," Gabbard said in the testimony to the Senate intelligence committee.

Ahmed Moussa told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "due to regional developments, Iranian gas supplies to Iraq completely halted an hour ago," cutting about 3,100 megawatts of power, which will "certainly affect the grid."
Despite Iraq's abundant oil and gas reserves, its power plants are highly dependent on gas imported from Iran.
US President Donald Trump on Wednesday temporarily waived a century-old shipping law to help ease energy costs that have surged since US-Israeli strikes on Iran plunged the Middle East into war.
Trump's move to issue a 60-day Jones Act waiver would lift a ban on foreign-flagged vessels transporting cargo between US ports over this period.
The 1920 law was aimed at promoting American shipbuilding, but critics argue that it hampers free trade and has raised costs for consumers.
Trump's latest move is "just another step to mitigate the short-term disruptions to the oil market as the US military continues meeting the objectives of Operation Epic Fury," said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt in a statement.
She was referring to the joint US-Israeli offensive launched against Iran on February 28.
"This action will allow vital resources like oil, natural gas, fertilizer and coal to flow freely to US ports for sixty days," Leavitt added.
An AFP journalist heard loud blasts over the Tel Aviv area on Wednesday, after the Israeli military said it had detected missiles fired from Iran.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said Wednesday that if the United States had consulted Berlin about the US-Israel war against Iran, "we would have advised against taking this course of action".
"We share with Israel and the United States the objective that Iran should no longer pose a threat in future," Merz told parliament.
"For years and decades, the Iranian regime has broken rule after rule, spread terror across the world and destabilised the neighbourhood. This regime bears responsibility for the current crisis in the region," he said.
"At the same time, however, we have also made it clear that we still have many questions regarding this war," Merz said, adding that the US and Israel had shown "no convincing plan as to how this operation could succeed".
Washington had "not consulted" Germany about the war, Merz noted.
"We would have advised against taking this course of action as it has been pursued so far," he said, reaffirming that "we have stated that, for as long as the war continues, we will not take part in it".

It clarified that Class 12 assessment scheme will be communicated separately once decided.
Russia on Wednesday condemned the killing of Iranian security chief Ali Larijani, after ally Tehran vowed retaliation for his death in an Israeli airstrike.
Larijani had met Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin in January, at a time when US navy ships were heading towards Iran ahead of the US-Israeli air campaign launched at the end of February.
"We firmly condemn actions aimed at harming the health and, even more, the killing of the leadership of sovereign and independent Iran. We condemn such actions," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters in a daily briefing.
Qatar on Wednesday blamed Israel for an attack on an offshore natural gas field it shares with Iran.
The accusation came from Majed Al Ansari, a spokesman for Qatar's Foreign Ministry. The Iranian side of the field, the South Pars field, came under attack Wednesday and was burning.

"Targeting energy infrastructure constitutes a threat to global energy security, as well as to the peoples of the region & its environment," he wrote on X.
"We reiterate, as we have repeatedly emphasised, the necessity of avoiding the targeting of vital facilities. We call on all parties to exercise restraint, adhere to international law, & work toward de-escalation in a manner that preserves the security & stability of the region."

She added that Russia had warned the United States and Israel against "threatening the lives" of Russian citizens still working at the plant, which Moscow helped build.

Iraq announced on Wednesday it had resumed limited oil exports of 250,000 bpd through the Turkish port of Ceyhan after the country's output plunged due to disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.
A founding member of the OPEC cartel, crude oil sales make up 90 per cent of Iraq's budget revenues. Before the outbreak of war on February 28, Iraq mainly shipped its oil - roughly 3.5 million barrels per day - from the southern Basra fields via the Strait of Hormuz.
The state-owned North Oil Company said it "has begun operating the Sarlo pumping station to resume pumping and exporting Kirkuk oil to the port of Ceyhan with an initial capacity of 250,000 barrels per day".
Iraq resumed oil exports from its fields in the northern Kirkuk province "after a disruptive period that posed a significant challenge to the oil sector," and in agreement with the autonomous Kurdistan Region, through which the pipeline to Turkey's port of Ceyhan runs.
Iraq has been scrambling to find a solution to export its oil, and there have been long-running talks with Iraqi Kurdistan to ship it through the autonomous region.
Kurdish authorities had asked for several measures in return, before agreeing to let the oil flow through the region's pipeline.
The Kurdistan natural resources ministry said that the Sarlo oil station began operating at 6:30 am (0330 GMT) to enable exports via the Kurdistan region pipeline to the port of Ceyhan.

About 90 ships including oil tankers have crossed the Strait of Hormuz since the outset of the war with Iran and it is still exporting millions of barrels of oil at a time when the waterway has been effectively closed, according to maritime and trade data platforms.
Many of the vessels that passed through the strait were so-called "dark" transits evading Western government sanctions and oversight that likely have ties to Iran, maritime data firm Lloyd's List Intelligence said. More recently, vessels with ties to India and Pakistan have also successfully crossed the strait as governments stepped up negotiations.
A senior Australian government minister said he isn’t aware of any formal U.S. request for military support to keep the Strait of Hormuz open.
Treasurer Jim Chalmers was responding Wednesday to US President Donald Trump’s complaint that Australia, Japan, South Korea and NATO had rejected his calls to help secure the strait from Iranian attack.
Asked if Australia had received any formal US request for extra military support to keep the strait open, Chalmers told Australian Broadcasting Corp: “Not that I’m aware of.”
