Dubai: A road crash on a major highway, as well as rush-hour traffic jams, delayed Dubai motorists on Sunday morning.
At 7:13 am, an accident was reported on the Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed road, causing serious delays on the highway’s Sharjah-bound lane.

An #accident has been reported on SMBZ Rd towards Sharjah.
Congestion continued to slow for a four-kilometre stretch on the major thoroughfare as of 9am, although there have been no casualties reported so far.

The nearby E311 highway along the Arabian Ranches area, as shown on the above map, was also heavily congested, causing nine-minute delays.
Motorists traversing the Al Khail road, near the Jumeirah Village Triangle and Jumeirah Village Circle, were not spared from congestions as well.

Commuters moving towards Abu Dhabi or Jebel Ali direction, particularly those passing through Wafi Mall, Zabeel Park, Trade Centre Roundabout and Shaikh Zayed Road also experienced heavy traffic.

As of 9:15 am, the 2.4-kilometre stretch of the Dubai-Sharjah road was congested.
UAE residents and visitors have been dealing with road congestions and accidents on morning rush hours, and drivers, especially those passing through school zones, have been advised to proceed with caution.
The Dubai Police reminded motorists again on Sunday to comply with local school guidelines and instructions of local guards when traversing near academic institutions for the safety of the students.
