International entertainment and listings magazine "Time Out" is to launch a Dubai edition this year. Middle East magazine publisher ITP has acquired the rights to "Time Out" for the GCC and will launch the 144-page monthly magazine in September.

ITP publisher Walid Akawi said "Time Out Dubai" will have an initial print run of 35,000 copies which will be mainly available in Dubai, but also throughout the UAE, Middle East and at airports around the world.

"Time Out" currently has editions in London and New York which specialise in event listings and entertainment. "Our aim is to deliver a magazine that serves visitors and residents alike with an interesting, relevant and easy to use guide to the leisure and entertainment options in our city," Akawi said.

ITP marketing executive Fiona Allen said the new magazine will be launched in English initially, but there are plans to follow it with an Arabic edition. ITP has offices in Dubai Media City, the UK and Egypt and publishes over 20 business, technology and consumer electronics magazines in English and Arabic.
