Pictures: Fire on Dubai Marina restaurant boat

Dubai: Dramatic images show a restaurant boat that caught fire on Wednesday evening in Dubai Marina, causing passengers on board to jump out of the vessel’s windows to escape for their lives.

According to an official from Dubai Civil Defence, none of the passengers  were injured.

Firefighters from the Dubai Civil Defence and ambulance cars rushed to the scene within minutes after emergency calls were made to 999.

The fire was brought under control immediately, according to the Dubai Civil Defence official.

Investigations are still under way to find out the cause of the fire, which sent smoke billowing hundreds of metres into the air.
