Abu Dhabi: A total of Dh1.5 billion worth of housing benefits will be provided to 1,100 Emirati beneficiaries in Abu Dhabi, following an order from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his capacity as Ruler of bu Dhabi.
This batch of housing benefits is the second package granted by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed in 2022 and it coincides with the occasion of Eid Al Adha.
This includes grants for houses, housing loans and exemptions from loan repayments.
Social support programme
Earlier in the month, the President issued instructions to restructure the Social Support Programme for low-income families and increase its budget from Dh14billion to Dh28 billion.
The comprehensive support programme covers the various basic needs of low-income families through the Ministry of Community Development. The programme covers household allowance, wife’s allowance and children’s allowance, financial support for housing, as well as basic needs such as food, water, electricity and fuel, as well as temporary financial support for job-seeking and unemployed Emiratis over the age of 45 years.
Four new allocations were also introduced to cover housing, university education, unemployed Emiratis over 45 years and unemployed citizens who looking for jobs. The four allocations aim to enable low-income Emirati families to have proper housing, encourage outstanding students to attend university, and support older citizens.
