Dubai: An employee has been accused of threatening to set his wife on fire and burn all her clothes if she did not leave his house.
The 39-year-old Emirati employee was said to have kicked his 35-year-old countrywoman wife out the house and threatened to set her on fire if she did not leave the house in August.
The mother of the 35-year-old wife was said to have overheard the verbal threats of her son-in-law on her daughter’s phone.
Prosecutors accused the 39 year old of threatening his wife.
The suspect failed to show up before the Dubai Court of First Instance where he was scheduled to enter a plea on Sunday.
The prosecutors said the suspect verbally threatened his wife saying “leave the house now or I will burn you and your clothes”.
Presiding judge Fahd Al Shamsi will hand out a ruling on November 27.
