Abu Dhabi: A 40-year-old expat with a heart condition was airlifted out of Makasib Island on Saturday, August 14 so that he could receive emergency care, the National Centre for Search and Rescue (NSRC) has said.

The Bangladeshi expat had initially reported breathing difficulties, and eventually lost consciousness. The Abu Dhabi Police received the report at its Operation Room, and its teams swung into action with the NSRC to rescue the patient.

He was promptly airlifted from his accommodation in Makasib Island to Al Sila Hospital for treatment, despite the inclement weather in the emirate.
