The five-day event, to be held under the patronage of Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, will feature 100 activities that will target citizens and residents across all emirates with an aim to entrench the culture of innovation and highlight its significant value in the society.
Afra Al Sabri, Undersecretary of the ministry said that UAE Innovation Week will be organised for the second year in a row, in implementation of the UAE strategic vision and in response to the wise leadership’s call to cement the UAE’s position as a global hub for innovation, building capacities and promoting a culture of innovation.
“The move is aimed at encouraging public and private sectors to adopt the culture of innovation as a key measure to ensure achieving sustainable development and launching constructive initiatives and innovative ideas that serve the community and leave an indelible mark on the development of the UAE,” she added.
Al Sabri pointed out that “beside organising various forums, exhibitions and innovation platforms, the ministry will organise an auction for the sale of some of its paintings and will launch the National Identity Monitor App, a smart app that will be used for monitoring and developing studies and plans and conducting forward analysis of the national identity”.
The event will also see the launch of the UAE Smart Library for public sector employees, a special portal that will provide thousands of books for federal employees.
She called on all citizens and expats to attend and participate in the big event.
