Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi vehicle license plates have been revamped and will be available at Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Licensing service centres from March 1.

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has set up a webpage enabling users to view the new vehicle plates at http://adpolice.tv/platem/plate.aspx

Using the website, users can enter their plate type, plate number and category and click on preview to generate an image of their redesigned plate.

L.M., 34, a Jordanian Oilfield Services Engineer in the capital said: “The new plates are much more attractive than the previous ones. It also helps that the full ‘Abu Dhabi’ word is displayed in the tourism logo — giving the plate a distinct look. I’m seriously considering going on March 1 and replacing mine even though it has not expired yet.”

Meanwhile, other residents do not seem too happy with the new design with 26-year-old Financial Analyst, R.L., in the capital saying that the vehicle license plate seems more crowded than the previous one.

The Ministry is yet to release details on the fees and conditions.
