Dubai: The Municipality and University of Dubai have signed a cooperation agreement that seeks to bolster cooperation between the two organisations in the fields of training, academic research and educational seminars.

The agreement, which was signed by Obaid Salem Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General of Dubai Municipality for Administrative and General Services Affairs and Dr Mohammad Omar Hefni, President of the University of Dubai, stems from the municipality's aspiration to enhance the competency of its staff and their performance by providing continuous education and training aimed at developing them as well as raising the standard of its services to achieve customer satisfaction.

Through the agreement, the University of Dubai, in its capacity as an academic institution, seeks to forge cooperation with leading government organisations in Dubai.

Modern skills

The agreement will pave the way for academic and work-related cooperation between Dubai Municipality and the University of Dubai in fields such as conducting academic studies, training staff and organising academic seminars.

The initiative will ultimately help the civic body achieve performance excellence on corporate and individual levels.

Under the agreement, the university will offer special training and educational programmes for municipality staff to equip them with modern skills to face future challenges.
