Dubai: Two cleaners have been accused of molesting a seven-year-old schoolboy after they lured him to their residence and showed him indecent footage of a pornographic nature on a mobile phone.

The Filipino cleaners, 25-year-old A.V. and 21-year-old N.J., were said to have taken the Kenyan boy while he was playing in front of his home to their residence where they showed him indecent images on a mobile phone before one of them molested him in March 2015.

Prosecutors accused the duo of breaching the boy’s modesty and privacy when they showed him the indecent material.

N.J. was solely charged with molesting the boy while A.V. was accused of aiding and abetting N.J.

The 25-year-old was solely charged with possessing pornographic material with the intent to show it to others.

“I did not molest the boy … I am not guilty,” argued N.J. when he entered an innocent plea before the Dubai Court of First Instance on Sunday.

Meanwhile his countryman, A.V., entered a guilty plea.

“Yes I showed the pornographic images to the boy,” the 25-year-old told presiding judge Urfan Omar.

The boy’s Kenyan mother testified to prosecutors that she went out to look for her child at 8pm because he was late coming home.

“I went out to search for my boy who was playing outside. The maid called me at 9.15pm and told me that my son had returned home. When I asked him why he was late, he remained silent. Then he cried … when I insisted on him speaking, he claimed to me to that the cleaners molested him. He alleged to me that the suspects took him to a room where they showed him images of naked women and one of them touched him indecently,” the mother claimed.

Records said police arrested the defendants shortly after the mother reported what happened.

The boy was cited telling prosecutors that one of the suspects showed him indecent images while the other groped him.

A ruling will be heard on June 17.
