Abu Dhabi: Fifteen private security firms in the northern emirates have been found to be violating the federal law for private security companies.

The violations were unearthed during an inspection campaign conducted by the Department of Private Security Companies in the Interior Ministry, in coordination with police departments in the northern emirates.

Colonel Ahmad Mohammad Al Hantoubi, director of the department, said there were eight violating companies in Ras Al Khaimah, four in Ajman and three in Umm Al Quwain. The companies have been referred to the Public Prosecution department in each emirate.

Under the Private Security Companies Law, the violators are facing the imprisonment of their officials or the payment of Dh20,000 fines.
