A new scholarship programme offering top Bahraini students the chance to study in some of the best universities in the West has been initiated by the Crown Prince and Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force Sheikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

Under the scheme, known as the Crown Prince's International Scholarship Programme, six students will join universities in the United States or United Kingdom in September.

The students are Sawsan Al Humaidan, Nasser Al Mohri, Hussain Al Fadhel, Hussain Al Musaad, Mona Janahi and Ohood Othman. Another six students are being evaluated. About 50 students were shortlisted for final evaluation which involves an 84-hour, 10-week special course.
