Dubai: If you are a UAE national or resident who has received the COVID-19 vaccine outside the UAE, you may be looking at how you can register it on the Al Hosn app – which is the UAE’s official vaccine registry app.
The Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC) has issued guidelines that need to be fulfilled in order to register a vaccine received outside the UAE on the Al Hosn app.
Which vaccines are approved?
The first step is to ensure that the vaccine is among the approved COVID-19 vaccines by the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) and the World Health Organisation (WHO). These are:
• Pfizer-BioNTech
• Sinopharm
• Hyatvax
• Sputnik V
• Oxford/AstraZeneca
• Moderna
• Covishield
• Janssen (Johnson & Johnson)
• Sinovac
Also, the vaccine should have been taken after October 1, 2020, as per the announcement by ADPHC.
What should the vaccine certificate mention?
The following details should be included in the vaccine certificate:
• Name of the vaccine recipient
• Vaccine recipient identifier (and in case the Emirates ID is not available, Unified Number in passport)
• Vaccine name (or manufacturer name).
• Batch number/lot number.
• Vaccination date.
• Place of vaccination, including country name.
How to register the vaccine
If you fulfil all the guidelines mentioned above, visit an authorised medical centre in Abu Dhabi for medical evaluation.
To set up an appointment, call
1. Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha) on 800 50 or
2. Mubadala Healthcare on 800 4959.
An authorisation report will then be submitted by the centre to get the vaccine registered.
What are the benefits of registering your vaccine?
If you are fully vaccinated, you can enjoy a longer ‘Green status’ – for 30 days – on the Al Hosn app after you get a PCR [Polymerase Chain Reaction] test. A Green Status on the Al Hosn app is required if you wish to enter the following places in Abu Dhabi:
• Shopping centres
• Restaurants and cafes
• Gyms and sporting activities
• Spas
• Entertainment centres
• Retail outlets
