Suspected-US drone hit kills top Al Qaida commander in Yemen
Sana'a: A suspected-US drone hit Sunday afternoon a group of Al Qaida militants in the southern province of Shawba, killing Al Qaida's senior commander and two other, an journalist from the area told Gulf News.
The name of the commander was Fahed Al Quso, who is regarded as top — wanted AQAP figures for the US and Yemen.
"The US drone killed three Al Qaida militants, including Fahed and injured five others. The militants were gathering in Fahe'd farm in Rafadh district when the airplane struck. "
The journalist, who preferred to be unknown, said that the farm has been targeted many times before by US drones when the US was looking for Anwar Al Awlaqi.
