Dubai: Saudi police have arrested 10 members of a criminal gang for stealing electric cables from power distribution stations in Riyadh.
The expatriate suspects were arrested by Riyadh police after receiving complaints and reports about the disappearance of huge quantities of electric cables from power distribution stations in various locations in the capital.
The Riyadh Police and Criminal Investigation Unit managed to arrest the gang members after a major investigation.
Acting on information and after gathering evidence, the police arrested the suspects who confessed to the theft. Upon preliminary investigations and questioning, the gangsters confessed they carried out 83 burglaries.
The suspects have been referred to the Public Prosecution and detained pending trial.
