Washington: A military board is investigating why a US B-1 bomber aircraft caught fire after landing in Qatar late on Friday, the air force said in a statement.
The crew members are safe and the fire has been contained. The aircraft was taxiing after landing at Qatar's Al Udeid Air Base when the incident occurred.
The base, south of Doha, serves as a US headquarter for air operations in the Middle East.
The B-1 bomber is often used by the US military to bomb targets over Iraq and Afghanistan. It carries satellite and laser-guided bombs.
