Dubai: A Saudi family has been rescued from the desert in Dubai after their vehicle became stuck in the sand.
Police dispatched a helicopter to the scene as soon as they were alerted on Wednesday evening.
Lieutenant-Colonel Pilot Essam Bin Hafidh and First Lieutenant Abdullah Al Shair of Dubai Police Air Wing were able to quickly locate the family after calling their cell phone.
The helicopter searched the place and found the family and a paramedic from Dubai Ambulance helped the family until a police patrol dispatched from Al Barsha police station reached the family.
Emergency responders helped the family get their car moving and return to the main road.
The family said that they saw some gazelles in the desert and wanted to watch them when their car got stuck in the sand.
