UAE: 1.6 million people in Dubai used public transport, taxis on New Year’s Eve

Dubai: A total of 1,631,861 riders used Dubai’s public transport, shared mobility modes and taxis during the New Year’s Eve on Friday, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said on Saturday.

Statistics showed that 640,175 riders used the Dubai Metro, 34,672 used Dubai Tram and 837,331 used public buses. Meanwhile, 50,398 riders used various marine transit modes and 96,937 used e-hail rides. Taxis lifted 476,831 riders and shared mobility means served 1,011 riders on New Year’s Eve.
