RTA is planning to link salik accounts to leading banks to ensure smoother transactions, said an RTA official in a press release.

Salah Al-Marzooki, Director of Intelligent Traffic Systems Department at RTA Traffic & Roads Agency, said, “RTA is considering to link Salik Account with a number of leading banking institutions such that users can process several Toll Gate transactions through using their own bank channels & accounts, in lines with the cooperation links established with Dubai Islamic Bank and Emirates International Bank. RTA is to sign agreements with several entities to provide a new package of services capable of uplifting the quality of services deliverable to Salik subscribers.

Upgrading services

“RTA is always keen to promote the confidence of customers in the services rendered through upgrading the style and caliber of these services,'' he said.

“An integrated package of interactive services is offered to Salik subscribers, including the website, which is attracting huge numbers of visitors as it is readily accessible, and provides the type & volume of information required by web visitors. Subscribers are offered several options to top up their accounts including credit cards, e-dirham or direct deduction form bank account under Dubai E-Government system.

“The number of subscribers to Salik Portal exceeded 300 thousand individuals since inception of the service in 2007; a fact which underlines the confidence pinned by customers in the e-services. Customers also have the option to use traditional methods in topping up their accounts through visiting a number of Petrol Stations such as EPCO, ENOC, and ADNOC, or branches of Dubai Islamic Bank / Emirates International Bank,'' added Al-Marzooki.
