Abu Dhabi: The Health Authority-Abu Dhabi (HAAD) has confirmed two new cases of coronavirus in UAE.
The two new cases were discovered when a 38-year-old Jordanian resident of the UAE suffering from respiratory-related symptoms was admitted into a hospital.
A diagnosis revealed that he was suffering from coronavirus. A diagnosis carried out on the patient’s wife, who is eight months pregnant, showed that she also contracted the virus. She is currently receiving treatment in ICU.
HAAD reaffirmed that is coordinating with the Ministry of Health and other health authorities in the UAE to take precautionary measures specified by the World Health Organisation.
The HAAD stated that the World Health Organisation (WHO) has stressed that the virus is not a concern for public health at the moment, and that the current situation does not require a travel ban to any country in the world, nor screenings at different ports, nor any restrictions on trade.
