Dubai: Shaikh Zayed Bin Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the grandson of the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, returned home after successful treatment in Germany for injuries suffered in Yemen.
The ruling family member was injured in August 2017 following a helicopter crash in Yemen.
Welcoming him back to the country, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai said Shaikh Zayed Bin Hamdan is a role model.
‘Shaikh Zayed Bin Hamdan is a role model for his generation. The nation is proud of him and its brave soldiers. With Shaikh Zayed and our courageous soldiers, our nation gets stronger and more immune, and the spirit of sacrifice gets entrenched in our youth and soldiers. Zayed, you are welcome to your home country,” Shaikh Mohammad, tweeted.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces also shared his joy on twitter.
“Today, we are pleased with the safe return of Shaikh Zayed. We ask Allah Almighty to preserve our soldiers who are on the front lines and bless the injured with speedy recovery and bestow his great mercy upon our martyrs,” Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed wrote on his Twitter account.
“We congratulate the nation and its leaders on the safe return of the brave Shaikh Zayed Bin Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to our beloved UAE.
“The more challenges, the more Emiratis prove their ability to face them, and that they are always honoured to answer their country’s call of duty through their sacrifices. Zayed Bin Hamdan is one of the nation’s brave heroes, and his comrades are the best role models of sacrifice and giving. We lift our heads their pride and no fear for a nation that has young men and heroes like them,” he said in another tweet.
