Abu Dhabi: Two new judges were sworn in on Monday before President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Shaikh Khalifa wished the two new judges, Abdul Rasul Tantawi and Arafa Ahmad Syed Ali Dere'i, success in their duties.

Shaikh Khalifa instructed the judges to the achieve justice between people without fear or discrimination, and to be devoted to their work and models of fairness and impartiality.

Shaikh Khalifa affirmed that the UAE is a country of justice, truth and equality.

"We in the UAE value the role of judges in achieving justice among people. Justice is the right of all, and the supremacy of law is above all other considerations," said Shaikh Khalifa.

He said judges should act as models for integrity, impartiality and faithfulness and fear only God when judging between litigants.

The President instructed the judges to speed up settlement of cases they examine and pronounce judgments in compliance with Sharia law and other laws followed in the UAE.

The oath taking ceremony was attended by Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Eastern Region, and other Shaikhs and senior officials.
