Fujairah: A car was reported to have caught fire at 2.49pm on Friday in Fujairah when it was parked at an Enoc petrol station.
Colonel Ali Al Tuaniji, Director General of Fujairah Civil Defence, told Gulf News that the fire was successfully put out because of Fujairah Civil Defence’s quick response.
Al Tuaniji added that no injuries were sustained but the car was completely burnt and the cladding roof of the petrol station was partially damaged. The site is currently closed for maintenance and a full investigation is being undertaken by authorities.
He advised motorists to avoid using any flammable materials such as cigarettes while at petrol stations and to have periodical maintenance on their cars.
