In a bid to address concerns raised by shoppers seeking parking spaces in its retail complex, BurJuman management announced the introduction of a paid parking scheme to be implemented shortly.
The move will mean that BurJuman customers will have a wider range of parking spaces available through a validation system, whereby spending a minimum of Dh100 at any retail or food outlet will entitle shoppers to free parking. There will also be a lunch-time complimentary parking on weekdays, as well as free parking on Fridays and public holidays.
“At BurJuman we have always taken a leadership position in the retail market and believe that introducing this paid parking initiative will lead to greater convenience and reduced stress for our shoppers. We made this proactive move after having received feedback from shoppers who faced difficulties finding parking spaces and believe that for genuine BurJuman shoppers, the paid parking scheme will address the issue,'' said Eisa Adam Ibrahim, General Manager, BurJuman.
The rate per hour for parking will be charged at Dh20 from 6am to 6pm. However, shoppers spending Dh100 or more in BurJuman will be entitled to free parking. Between the hours of 12.30pm to 2.30pm, and from 6pm onwards, parking will be free of charge, as well as on Fridays and public holidays.
Upon entering the parking area at BurJuman, a grace period of 15 minutes for pick up and drop is applicable, and customers will be given a grace period of 30 minutes to leave the parking lot after ticket validation. Payment machines will be available at all parking lobbies and notes accepted by machines will include Dh5, 10, 100, and 1 dirham coins. Lost tickets will be charged at full day fee.
