Dubai: A new crowd funding initiative to help independent filmmakers, artists, students and innovators has been launched. The initiative, a digital platform termed Aflamnah, will encourage creative people — with a project or idea related to the Arab world — in need of funding.
In concept, once a person pitches his or her idea and explains how much money is needed, investors will pledge the money. It is supported by the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) and Gulf Film Festival.
