Dubai: The internet is a huge marketplace where anyone can sell anything and everything. And as more social media platforms and websites open up, users are bombarded with thousands of ads on a daily basis.
But, out of the adverts encountered online, there are a few that appear out of this world. A listings site in the UAE, dubizzle has identified seven of them.
Dinosaur skeleton
A set of dinosaur bones was once advertised for sale in the UAE. The brontosaurus skeleton named Einstein was offered to UAE buyers for a whopping Dh88 million.
“This is a once in a 150 million year lifetime opportunity,” said the advertiser, who assured that the item on sale was “perfect inside out” and “used only a few times.”
One ton of plastic bottles
Someone who accumulated too many plastic bottles, weighing at least a ton, did go online to get rid of the huge stockpile. And to get anyone interested, the price was fixed at Dh1.
The Batmobile
The replica of the Tumbler Batmobile was listed online by GTR motors for a hefty Dh3.5 million. It sure did wow Batman fans in UAE.
Golden frog
A frog figurine made of gold went on sale online for an eye-popping Dh3.67 million. The item, which is believed to bring good luck, was sold by a user from Kerala, India.
Tron bike
Movie buffs were apparently amused when they encountered an ad for a life-size copy of the Tron: Legacy motorbike. Any potential buyer could channel Sam Flynn from the American science fiction film, provided they could afford to pay Dh165,000.
300-plus seater airplane

If you weren’t stunned by the Batmobile, perhaps an Airbus A340-542 Prestige would stir any interest? That is if you have Dh150 million ready cash. The 300-plus seater plane was advertised by Al Jabbari International DOO, a Serbia-based company. The seller stated in the ad that the aircraft was “out of original packaging but only used once.”
Amphibious limousine
For those who want to own both a yacht and a limousine, an amphibious luxury vehicle may just be the answer. Buyers in UAE were enticed to spend a cool Dh15 million on a limousine that could travel on land and sea. The vehicle can accommodate 14 people, including the driver and has a 500-600 horsepower.
