Qatar prosecutor detained for speeding and ignoring police orders

Manama: A prosecutor in Qatar is in police custody after he injured a policeman after being caught speeding.

The prosecutor was speeding when a policeman stopped him and requested him to report to the traffic department.

However, the prosecutor ignored the request and continued driving, injuring the policeman, Qatar News Agency (QNA) said.

Upon hearing the case and testimonies from witnesses, Qatar's Attorney General Dr Ali Bin Fetais Al Marri ordered the lifting of prosecutor's immunity and remanded him for four days in custody.
