Abu Dhabi: An African woman was arrested at Muscat International Airport for attempting to smuggle drugs, Royal Oman Police reported on Tuesday.

The woman allegedly tried to smuggle 6.5kg of marijuana and 300 tablets of narcotic pills to the Sultanate by air shipment, Omani police said on their official twitter account.

The accused has been sent to the public prosecution pending trial, the police said.
