Cairo: The Sri Lankan embassy has said it will remain closed until October 11 due to confirmed infections of the coronavirus.

Three embassy staff members and 44 migrant workers accommodated at the mission’s “Safe House” have been confirmed COVID-19 positive, the embassy said on its Twitter account.

The number of Sri Lankans in Kuwait is estimated at around 100,000.
