Manama: Madrasati Palestine, an initiative launched by Queen Rania of Jordan, to help Palestinian students, and a Bahraini charity will be the focus of a fundraising to be organised in Bahrain on Monday.

Queen Rania and Bahrain's Crown Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa will attend the fundraising dinner.

"During the dinner there will be an auction presented by Christies House of Auction in London,"organisers said. "The auction will feature numerous paintings donated by the top artists in Bahrain. Madrasati Palestine and a local charity in Bahrain, Alia School for Intervention, will benefit from the auction fundraising,"they said.

Madrasati Palestine Initiative was launched by Queen Rania in April to recondition schools in Palestine, ameliorate classroom environments, enhance teaching and learning strategies and improve teachers' aptitudes.

The schools are under the auspices of the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.

The fundraising dinner will be the second to be hosted by the Madrasati Palestine Women's Network in Bahrain.
