Manama: King Hamad Bin Eisa Al Khalifa on Wednesday reshuffled the Bahraini cabinet.
Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa was reappointed as Prime Minister and Crown Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa as First Deputy Prime Minister.
The four deputy prime ministers, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Shaikh Ali Bbin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Jawad Al Arrayedh and Shaikh Khalid Bin Abdullah Al Khalifa were also re-appointed.
Mohammad Al Muttawa was named Cabinet Affairs Minister, a post he had held in the past before taking up other positions.
The ministers of interior, Shaikh Rashid Bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, foreign affairs, Shaikh Khalid Bin Ahmad Al Khalifa, finance, Shaikh Ahmad Bin Mohammad Al Khalifa, education, Majid Bin Ali Al Nuaimi, energy Abdulhussain Bin Ali Mirza, Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Shaikh Khalid Bin Ali Al Khalifa and Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Essam Bin Abdullah Khalaf kept their portfolios.
Eisa Bin Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, the Information Affairs Minister, was given the Parliament Affairs portfolio in addition.
Faeqa Bint Saeed Al Saleh, the only woman minister in the cabinet, was given the health portfolio instead of the social development.She is the second woman in Bahrain after Nada Haffadh to be appointed in charge of health
Jameel Ali Humaidan was reappointed as Labour Minister, but was given the Social Development portfolio after the two were merged into one ministry.
Kamal Bin Ahmad Mohammad remained Transportation and Telecommunications Minister, Basem Bin Yaqoub Al Hamer as Housing Minister, Lt-General Yousuf Bin Ahmad Al Jalahma as Defense Affairs Minister, Zayed Bin Rashid Al Zayani as Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister and Hisham Bin Mohammad Al Jowder as Youth and Sports Affairs Minister.
The outgoing cabinet was appointed in December following the fourth parliamentary elections in the kingdom. Elections were held in 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014.
