Ramadan Recipe: Pide

This is a type of a Turkish flatbread eaten especially in the company of kebabs

Pide (pronounced as pea-day) has various varieties that are wide spread through Turkey, and Günaydın Dubai is giving out a preview of how a simple flatbread is made. Forget tomato sauce, mozzarella, here’s a traditional recipe you can follow.

Preparation

Basic ingredients
For the dough, you will need the following:Lamb ribs
100 grams salt
100 grams sugar
100 grams yeast
Water
200 grams Stager Cheese
1 egg

Method

1. Mix the 100 grams of yeast with 100 grams of sugar and 100 grams of salt.

2. Add some water into this mixture.

3. Knead them all together.

4. Cut 200 to 300 grams of dough and leave it to rest.

5. Start spreading the dough with your hands.

6. Add 200 grams of Stager Cheese on the dough.

7. Heat it in the oven from seven to eight minutes.

8. Spread oil on the crust.

9. Crack the yolk of the egg on the centre of Pide.
