Sharjah: Three Emiratis were injured after their motorbike overturned in the desert in Sharjah on Friday, police said on Saturday.

In cooperation with the National Centre for Research and Rescue of the National Guard, Sharjah Police rescued the citizens - whose injuries ranged from moderate to serious - after the accident in the Eastern Region.

A report was received by the central operations room of Sharjah Police at 6:22pm on Friday about an accident involving a motorcycle rented from a shop in the area. Immediately, police teams and a National Ambulance team from the National Guard were dispatched to the site to provide first aid. Due to the rugged nature of the area, coordination was sought with the National Search and Rescue Centre, which promptly rescued the injured by airlifting them to Al Dhaid Hospital for necessary treatment.

Sharjah Police urged desert goers to exercise caution and follow safety procedures, avoid entering rugged areas or those far from emergency routes, and adhere to guidelines that contribute to everyone’s safety.
