Abu Dhabi: An Asian man who is suspected of committing murder was recently extradited to the UAE from Oman.

The 28-year-old man, M.N., is alleged to have killed a 32-year-old Asian lady, S.A., with whom he was previously involved in an illicit relationship. Because S.A. recently married another man, M.N. strangled her to death, said Major General Mohammad Al Awadhi Al Menhali, director of Police Operations at the General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police.

Afterwards, M.N. tied up her hands and legs before wrapping her in blankets and plastic. He then drove to Oman.

“After the body was found, investigators were deployed to follow up on the suspect. M.N.’s friends revealed he had left for Oman, after which extradition orders for the suspect were filed with Oman,” Al Menhali said. Further investigations showed that M.N. had surrendered to the Omani authorities. He had then confessed that he was illegally in the country, in the hope that he would be sent back to his homeland.

Omani security authorities instead extradited the suspect to the UAE.
