Peter Bauer, chief information officer at National Health Insurance Company, Daman explains the various features the new mobile app:

What are the benefits of using the new Daman mobile app?

The app makes our services accessible to our members through a phone. Users can submit reimbursement claims, access their medical network claims, check coverage information for them and their family, locate nearby network providers, and also contact the customer care team.

Can the customers use the app as a digital health insurance card?

Yes, but we suggest customers take their cards with them in the initial months until all hospitals have the system in place to accept digital cards.

Are there any special benefits for the app users?

Yes. The ability to reach Daman’s 24/7 customer care team with ‘one tap access’ and the functionality of locating a network provider are very handy.

How can users claim reimbursement through the app?

Customers can reimburse any claim up to Dh10,000 or its equivalent in international currency – the app allows a seamless feature to snap photos of documents to accompany the claim. The customer can submit a claim, check its status, and receive their reimbursements directly to their accounts.

How many people have started using the app?

The response has been very positive. We have logged in over 5,000 downloads between Daman and Thiqa apps. Hopefully through word of mouth, more will see the benefit of these apps.
