The Gulf Medical College Ajman (GMCA) and the Iranian Hospital in Dubai have set up a Medical Education Centre. Professors and teachers who have extensive experience in medical education from both institutions have created the centre to benefit medical students, teachers and the health sector.

GMCA Dean S. Rangaswami said that a three-day workshop was organised by the GMCA and the Iranian Hospital teaching staff to discuss the programmes they would offer at the Medical Education Centre.

"The centre plans regular workshops to highlight emerging trends and to act as a focal point to disseminate information, skill and knowledge among medical teachers throughout the UAE," he added.

The centre was established to cope with changing trends in medical education and introduce new programmes to benefit the local medical sector. "In addition to utilising local expertise, the medical education centre hopes for collaboration with global organisations like the WHO and evolve into a regional centre for training medical teachers," Rangaswami said.
