A film crew from Britain's GMTV, Europe's most popular breakfast show with a regular audience of six million to seven million viewers, was recently in Dubai.
They were guests of Emirates airline and were making a series of short television films on Dubai for the award-winning programme.
The programmes, which will form part of GMTV's annual travel series, will run between January and the middle of February and will showcase Dubai along with other destinations.
"The programmes will focus on Dubai as an ideal winter break from the UK and will feature a host of activities that the city has to offer," said Ghaith Al Ghaith, Emirates executive vice president, commercial operations worldwide.
"Hosting high-profile media like this is part of our ongoing multi-million dollar campaign to promote the UAE and Emirates throughout the world. GMTV is the most watched breakfast show in the UK where we currently operate 11 daily flights, with British travellers topping the list of nationalities visiting Dubai for both leisure and business.
"The UK is a key market for us, and working with the media to positively promote UAE and Emirates will help Dubai meet its target growth for tourism in the city."
The GMTV crew was impressed with Al Maha Desert Resort and Spa which is owned and exclusively managed by Emirates. "We got exactly what we needed," Emma Gormley, the programme's producer, said of the visit to Al Maha. "It is an amazing place: beautiful, peaceful and relaxing, with incredible service.
"It is also very interesting to see the contrast between the city and the desert both of which have a lot to offer visitors to Dubai," she added.
The group also visited the city as part of an Arabian Adventures city tour, experienced the new Madinat Jumeirah complex and souq, and the Emirates Towers Hotel.
