Manama: A patient at a Qatari hospital is aiming to register his name in the Guinness World Records (GWR) by championing the process of writing the longest peace message in the world.

Mohammad Nizar Idriss said that the message would include views and comments made by the largest number of patients on the concept of peace and on ways and means to achieve international peace and security under the prevailing circumstances.

"The idea came to me while I was following up the events and popular uprisings, especially in the Arab region, to put our countries back on the proper track," he said.

"I think this is the most appropriate time to send such a message to the world to explain our dire need for peace, security and the change for the best," he said, quoted by Qatari daily Gulf Times.

Mohammad, who is receiving medical treatment at Rumaillah Hospital, said he was hopeful that patients at Hamad Medical Corporation would participate in the peace message.

He further added that a voluntary work agency or an entity caring for the disabled in Qatar could sponsor his initiative and help him in compiling opinions and comments on the concept of world peace.

According to the patient, the initiative has been welcomed by GWR management.
