Four members of a family, including the father, mother and their two children were killed in a fire that broke out in Jahra, an area north-west of Kuwait City where dozens of people were killed in August last year when a wedding tent was allegedly torched.

Only the six-month old baby of the Egyptian family was miraculously rescued by the fire brigade, but doctors said that his condition was "highly critical."

The police are still investigating the causes of the fire which killed the 39-year-old father Awadh Mohammad Salama, mother, Nahed Mohammad Salem, 29, Mohammad, five, and Ahmad, four. The parents died at the scene, while the two boys died in hospital, the police said.
