Kuwait: The total lockdown on Mahboula and Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh will be lifted on July 9th at 5am, according to government spokesman Tareq Al Mezrem.

The decision was announced after Thursday cabinet meeting where Minister of Health, Dr. Basel Al Sabah, recommended lifting the total lockdown on both areas.

Zero infections have been reported in Mahboula since June 18th, according to Arab Times.

Mahboula and Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh have been under total lockdown since April 6th.

Kuwait as of Wednesday has opened shopping malls, allowed 30 per cent of private and public sector employees to return to work, and has put in place a new partial curfew from 8pm to 5am as part of Phase 2 of its efforts to reopen the economy.

As for offices, both the private and public sector can now allow for the return of 30 per cent of their workforce. Many businesses have implemented a shift-like schedule, where employees rotate throughout the week and are in the office two to three days depending on their responsibilities.
