Manama: Girls have again beaten boys to the top of the class in Bahrain.

High school final exam results released on Tuesday by the education minister have indicated that girls in Bahrain are ahead of boys in their educational achievements.

"Out of the 419 students who achieved a score of 95 % and higher, there were 324 girls and 95 boys," Majed Al Nuaimi said.

Success rate among the 3,873 girls who graduated was 95.5%, while 93.4% of the 2058 boys who sat for the exams passed.

The 94.8% overall success rate is 2.3% better than what high school graduates achieved last year, Al Nuaimi said.
