Manama: Bahrain’s Prime Minister Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa has stressed the need for his country to remain fully alert and ready to deal with any security and political situation.

Developments and events in the region require our full readiness and promptness to handle them, Prince Khalifa said as he chaired a work meeting to review security issues, domestic matters and the latest regional concerns.

The prime minister called for the close monitoring of domestic affairs to preserve and protect Bahrain’s security and stability and to ensure they are not subverted through sedition and stirring public opinion through the dissemination of false and erroneous information, the Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

A strict application of the law is required against those who attempt to undermine stability and security, he said.

Prince Khalifa warned that there would be renewed attempts by those bent on disrupting security and stability to exploit events and security developments in the region to execute their plans.

Enticing speeches and negatives messages via the media and social networks will be used to sow sedition among Bahrainis and to erode the freedom and democracy enjoyed by Bahrain, Prince Khalifa warned.

Bahrain has pledged a zero-tolerance policy towards those who supported extremist or terrorist groups or were involved in any way in conflicts taking place in the region.
