Dubai: Taking on Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan once again, opposition leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari that a ‘selected’ governemnt has been imposed on the people of Pakistan.
“The ‘selected’ prime minister (Imran Khan) ‘dances to umpire’s tunes’ and he does not not undertand that people are the the ultimate umpires in a democracy,” Bilawal said during an address a public rally in Dera Ghazi Khan, a city in Southern Punjab of Pakistan. In his tongue in cheek speech, Bilawal’s use of word umpire was the obvious reference to army and what he means was that Imran was installed by the army and he is playing in their hands. However, he warned Imran that people are the ultimate power in a democracy.
The Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal said that a selected government is imposed on the people of Pakistan. “People from every sector are now screaming but Imran doesn’t care,” he said as was quoted by Geo TV.
Bilawal once again questioned the transparency of the last year’s geneal elections. He also said there is no political and media freedom in the country and there is no democracy in Pakistan.
He accused Prime Minister Imran for ‘selling’ the country to the IMF as he claimed the budget has nothing to offer for the poor of the country as price hike and heavy taxes have made life very tough for everyone in the country.
It is not the first time that Bilawal critcises and mocks Imran. Recently, he called Imran a ‘professional beggar’ in his tweet commenting on the Islamabad police’s campaign against professional beggars during Ramadan.
“This government intends to eliminate the poor instead of the poverty. Start with the Prime Minister select if you really want to arrest professional beggars,”Bilawal tweeted in Urdu.
Bilawal also came under fire recently after he mocked Prime Minister Imran and called him a ‘puppet’ on the occasion of the World Puppetry Day.
Bilawal had taken to twitter and shared a google image stating March 21 is World Puppetry Day. “Today is actually World Puppetry Day, congratulations Imran Khan.” Bilawal’s sarcastic tweet was an apparent reference to Imran as a puppet of the army in Pakistan.
Prime Minister Imran also did not leave any chance to humiliate Bilawal as he recently called him ‘Sahiba’ (madam) in his public speech.
