Qatar Foundation - a non-profit educational, science and community development organisation -has implemented an Oracle E-Business Suite that offers business flow automation in a paperless environment.

The project work was done by Hyperlink, an Oracle certified partner for implementation and consultancy services company in the Middle East, by deploying Oracle Financials and Oracle Human Resources Management System.

This will integrate the various centres and provide accurate information, timely reporting, embedded operational and financial control as well as budget control.

"As a committed non-profit educational and development organisation, Qatar Foundation has been faced with the challenging of automating its business processes, with the expansion of its activities focused on HR development," said Dr Yo Maruno, acting managing director, Qatar Foundation.

"It was, therefore, essential to migrate our systems to advanced Web-enabled processes that are dramatically altering the way people do business. Hyperlink, with its extensive experience in installing customised IT solutions and its knowledge of the Qatari market, was our choice as the systems integrator."

The Qatar Foundation, headquartered in Doha, was founded in 1995 under a decree by the Emir, His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

Ananth Swaminath, director of business solutions of Hyperlink, said: "Our brief was to create a centralised solution to integrate the multiple centres as Qatar Foundation has several inter-related bodies under its umbrella. This required a full assessment of the operations and operating procedures of all the centres.

"The project also included data conversion. The whole project was implemented through constant consulting and support sessions. Hyperlink also provided training to the managers of the various centres and at the central administration level."
