Sheikh Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ras Al Khaimah Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler said the facts on ground have recently proved the idea of the Arabs and Muslims making peace with Israel, but it is a mere daydream which will never come true.

He said during the celebrations and activities of the 'No… No… Israel' Festival, organised at the Ras Al Khaimah Sports and Cultural Club yesterday. Sheikh Khalid who was among a large crowd of audience of different nationalities said, "the continuous struggle of the Palestinian Intifada (uprising) was the only way for the Palestinians to get their occupied land back, despite the huge sacrifices the Palestinians have been making."

He said the current Palestinian uprising has ended up with hundreds of thousands of the Israelis immigrating from Israel, and has devastated the Israeli economy. It has badly affected the morale of the Israeli Armed Forces, particularly after their defeat by the Lebanese Islamic Resistance.

"The recent Israeli public opinions and statistics show that a total of 79 per cent of the Israelis do believe that Israel is no more a safe place to live and they have started immigration from it to other parts of the world.

"More than one million Israelis have left Israel since 1948, and among those Israelis is the granddaughter of the ex-Israeli Prime Minister, Menahem Begin.

"One of the most fruitful advantages of the current Palestinian uprising is the revival of the Arabs' lost social and political comprehension, particularly after the September 11 attacks on the U.S., where the Arabs were about to be punished for crimes they have never committed," he added.

Sheikh Khalid criticised the double standards of the International community which has not exerted any kind of pressure on the Israelis, adding that the Arab-Israeli struggle since the moment Areil Sharon came to power has taken a new historical turning point.

He said the whole world has been watching the aggressive practices of the Israeli prime minister and his forces in the occupied territories, but nobody has taken any measures against him. "The whole world has been living with double standards and absence of justice.

"The struggle between the Arabs, and Israel have been based on the right of existence, not borders, as it is truly a religious struggle or a struggle of civilisations.

"The disgusting state terrorism Israel has been practicing on the Palestinians, will not just pass without a punishment, but justice needs time to be done, and the Arabs are too patient when it comes to their rights.

"The current Israeli government is a government of war not a government for peace," he said, adding. At a time when the Arabs and the Muslims were making a peace plan at the Beirut Arab Summit, the Israelis were pointing their guns towards the Palestinian civilians and murdering them.

"Many Arabs have lately been questioning the benefits of the operations which the Palestinian martyrs are conducting in Israel, and claim they would only make the bad situation worse, so they call such operations suicide bombings or violence.

Many Arabs at the same time, have been exerting extended efforts to support normalisation of relations with Israel, but all those have basically forgotten the fact that in Israel there are no peace seekers, who would pressurise the government to end its aggression in the occupied territories," he said.

One of the key accomplishments of the Palestinian uprising has been to make the Jewish entity in Palestine lose safety and security.

"Our brothers in Palestine have offered ideal examples of sacrifices and resistance, where our mothers there have been arming and preparing their sons to die in defending the soil of the holy land.

"The barbaric acts of the Israeli Armed Forces in Palestine has given the right to each and every Arab to question and refuse peace with such an enemy," he said.

Sheikh Khalid said the Arabs believe that the outcome of the negotiations with Israel will not end in any acceptable results for them, as the American broker in the process is not honest and just.

"Stopping the Palestinian uprising at this point of time without taking any political gains equal to the moral gains which our brother fighters in the occupied territories have achieved is an unforgivable crime," he said.

If the Palestinian uprising is stopped, the blood of our martyrs will go for nothing, and that would not meet the expectations of the Arabs.

"Through history, it is proved that the Jewish and Western mentality does not understand the logic of peace, but the logic of force is the only thing they can understand, respect and later implement," he said.

This uprising has forced all the Arabs to become one unit and act as one again, and has forced many of them to shut down the Israeli commercial missions in their capitals.

Sheikh Khalid underlined the importance of creating the military balance between the Arabs and Israel, adding that equality between the two sides is the missing element for the Arabs to achieve their goals.

He called on the Palestinian National Authority to do all the necessary evaluation for its regional and international relationships, in order to be balanced.

The Israeli policy of protecting their nationals by attacking any state at the time of danger, even if such a state does not have borders with Israel, makes the danger reach each and every Arab state.

He also called on the U.S.A. to review its policies in the Middle East. "It is time for the Americans to realise that their vital interests with the Arab states is much more important than Israel. The U.S.A. should be more logical in handling the struggle in the region by adopting the policy of the honest implementation of the UN resolutions in line with the Palestinian cause," he said.

It is time also for all the Arabs, leaders of the world and nations, to take all their responsibilities in defending Palestine.

"One of the key responsibilities in the Arab world nowadays is to bridge the gab between the governments and the intellectuals in order to start a new era," he said.

The celebrations started with a helicopter from the Ras Al Khaimah Police Department carrying the Palestinian and UAE flags.

Later Sheikh Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ras Al Khaimah Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler opened the new Sheikh Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi Stadium at the Ras Al Khaimah Sports and Cultural Club, followed by a poem written by Sheikha Fawaghi bint Saqr bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Wife of Sheikh Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, and Chairwoman of the Ras Al Khaimah Women's Club in support and memory of Palestine.

The celebrations also included a funeral of two Palestinian martyrs, organised by the emirate's schools.

The ambassadors of Belgium, Niger, were honoured by Sheikh Khalid as their countries have cut diplomatic relationships with Israel along with the Consul General of Palestine.

The main event of the celebrations of the festival was the football match which was held between the National Team of Palestine and the team of the Ras Al Khaimah Sports and Cultural Club which ha
