Ajman Leading Gynecologists of the UAE were honored at the National Conference on Women' s Health at Gulf Medical University recently.

The awards were held to recognise the contribution of the leading doctors in the field of gynecology and their exemplary service.

Thumbay Moideen, Founder President of GMU, said that the awards were a small token of appreciation.

"Our endeavour is to recognise the contributions made by doctors in their specialty and highlight their achievements. This is a token of our appreciation and we wish to make this into an annual event", said Moideen.

Shaikh Dr Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi handed over the momentos to the receipents, including, Dr Awatif Juma Al Bahar, Medical Director, Dubai Gynaecology and Fertility Centre, Dubai Health Authority, Dubai; Dr Shamsa Al Awar, HOD, Women's Health Institute, Al Ain Hospital, Al Ain; Dr, Zulekha Daud, Founder - Zulekha Hospitals and six others.

Other leading experts in the field of Gynaecology and Obstetrics delivered special talks on Polycystic Ovarian Disease, Evaluation of Couples for Infertility, Menopausal Therapy, Recurrent Miscarriage and Laparoscopy for Acute Abdomen in Pregnancy — Current Trends and Practices.

More than 150 doctors, medics and nurses who specialise in gynaecology and obstetrics participated in the conference which was accredited by the Ministry of Health for six CME hours.

Following the ceremony, Dr. Awatif Juma Al Bahar, Medical Director, Dubai Gynecology & Fertility Centre, DHA, who was one of the awardees, said: "I am extremely honoured for being chosen for this award. I wish to appreciate and thank the university for choosing people who have dedicated their lives for the profession. This will motivate younger professionals and help them achieve bigger things in life".
