Dubai: Ministerial work is a responsibility, and working in ministries is a national duty that requires dedication and hard work, said His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Shaikh Mohammad said that the ministers have to lead their teams, and to be role models and a source of inspiration.
Shaikh Mohammad made the remarks during a meeting with newly-appointed ministers in the UAE Cabinet in order to be briefed about work progress and developments in their respective 100-day work plans.
He instructed the new ministers to intensify their efforts and utilise their capabilities to bring plans, programmes and initiative under their supervision into fruition, which will in turn have a positive impact on peoples’ lives and support the approach of the UAE leadership to pave the way to the future.
“Today, I have met with new ministers of my work team in the UAE Government to encourage and inform them about the requirements and priorities of the coming phase. At the forefront of these priorities is to promote teamwork, relationship with the community, as well as communication with the people to learn about their needs and concerns,” said Shaikh Mohammad.
“I was also briefed by the team on the developments of future and vital portfolios that they are overseeing to assess what has already been achieved through their 100-day work plans,” he added.
“We, in the UAE government, are aware of increasing global changes that require governments which are to positively interact with these developments in a flexible and efficient manner, and is capable of quickly adapting their tools, mechanisms and work methods, as well as transforming challenges into opportunities to boost performance and improve the community’s quality of life,” said Shaikh Mohammad.
“This uniquely structured and future-oriented government reaffirms our approach and goals to achieve UAE Centennial 2071. My meeting with the ministers today comes as part of my continuous follow-up on the development of government work, and urge them to exert more efforts to accomplish the goals we have set during the UAE Annual Government meetings,” Shaikh Mohammad added.
“Our trust in you is great, and we have chosen you because we are fully confident that you are up capable of handling the responsibility. You are the ministers of the UAE’s Centennial mission, and we want you to focus on priorities and objectives of the UAE Vision 2021, so that we can eventually realise the UAE Centennial 2071 and make the UAE the best in the world,” said Shaikh Mohammad.
The meeting was attended by Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, Ohoud Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Happiness and Quality of Life and Director-General of the Prime Minister Office.
The ministers participating in the meeting were Noora Mohammad Al Kaabi, Minister for Culture and Knowledge Development, Nasser Bin Thani Al Hameli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Hessa Bint Eisa Bu Humaid, Minster of Community Development, Mariam Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Food Security, Sara Al Amiri, Minister of State for Advanced Sciences, and Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence.
