Sharjah Police find yellow watermelon with 'spells'

Sharjah: Police on Saturday found  a yellow watermelon with strange writings and sketches at Al Khan beach. Beachgoers found the fruit and reported it to the to Sharjah Police.

A police team moved to the scene and seized the fruit.

An official said someone had scribbled and drawn talisman spells on the fruit.

The police contacted Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs and a cleric was sent to decipher the writings. 

Later, the police posted a video on social media showing the cleric destroying the fruit.
