New Indian Model School (NIMS), Dubai emerged as the champions of the second Inter School junior volleyball tournament organised by the Central School, Dubai.

The all-NIMS final was held at the Central School volleyball court between NIMS, Al Ain and NIMS, Dubai.

The NIMS, Dubai team played extremely well to beat NIMS, Al Ain in straight sets (3-0).

NIMS, Al Ain started badly losing the first set 25-17.

In the second and third sets NIMS, Al Ain fought well.

They lost both the sets after a fierce battle and by an identical 26-24 margin.

The NIMS, Dubai kept their cool during the last two sets and went on to lift the title.

Fasil, the captain of NIMS, Al Ain team, put up a brilliant show. However, he could not withstand the hard-hit spikes, placing and coordinated play of the NIMS, Dubai team.

Sibin Babu Jacob, the captain of NIMS (Dubai) and Irfan Ali put up sterling performances to steer their team to victory.

In the semifinals, NIMS Dubai beat Global English School, Al Ain while NIMS, Al Ain defeated hosts Central School, Dubai.

The prizes were given away by the chief guest, K.M. Venu Gopalan, Consul (Ed.) Consulate General of India, Dubai.

The rolling championship trophy went to NIMS, Dubai while NIMS (Al-Ain) received the runner-up trophy.

The award for the best player of the tournament went to Sibin Babu Jacob, the skipper of the NIMS, Dubai team.

The best booster trophy was awarded to Irfan Ali, who also is a NIMS, Dubai student.

The most promising player of the tournament award was bagged by Fasil, the captain of the NIMS, Al Ain team.
